FAQs

1How do I choose the right MCB lockout if I don’t know my breaker's brand?
Most of our lockouts, like the BD-D05-1, are designed for universal compatibility with European and Asian single-pole breakers. The key is to measure the toggle (handle) thickness. For example, the BD-D05-1 fits handles up to 7mm, while the BD-D05-4 is optimized for up to 6mm. If you have a larger industrial breaker, the BD-D05-6 or BD-D18 would be the ideal choice.
2Do I need special tools to install these breaker lockouts?
It depends on the model. Our BD-D05 series requires a small screwdriver for a secure, permanent-feeling grip. If you prefer a tool-free solution, we recommend the BD-D18, which features a foldable knurled thumb screw, allowing your team to perform LOTO procedures quickly without carrying extra tools.
3Are these lockout devices durable enough for harsh chemical environments?
Yes. Our products are crafted from Reinforced Nylon PA or PA66 with 20% Glass Fiber. These materials are non-conductive, impact-resistant, and engineered to withstand extreme temperatures and chemical exposure, ensuring a long service life in industrial settings.
4Can the BD-D67 switch cover be installed without drilling holes in my equipment?
Absolutely. The BD-D67 comes with high-strength 3M adhesive tape for a secure, non-destructive installation. However, for permanent or high-vibration environments, the base also features pre-drilled holes, giving you the flexibility to use screw-mounting if the equipment allows.
5What size of padlock should I use with these lockout devices?
Most of our MCB lockouts (like BD-D05-1 and BD-D18) are compatible with industrial safety padlocks or hasps with a shackle diameter up to 7mm or 8mm. We recommend using our non-conductive nylon safety padlocks to ensure full electrical insulation.
6Why are the products available in different colors like Red and Yellow?
In a standard LOTO system, colors are often used for visual management. For instance, Red is the universal color for "Danger/Stop," while Yellow is frequently used to identify specific departments or caution levels. Choosing different colors helps maintenance teams quickly identify the status or ownership of a lockout at a glance.
